Light of Kailash 29 | On the Image of Padmasambhava in Zanglingma | Dr. Lucian Maidanuc
Dr. Lucian Maidanuc on the Zanglingma Biography and the Seven Facets of the Great Master
This lecture explores the image of Padmasambhava through the lens of the first complete biography of the great master, known as Zanglingma ("The Copper Temple"). This terma teaching is attributed to Nyangral Nyima Özer, a significant tertön of 12th-century Central Tibet.
Within the Zanglingma texts, the presenter identifies seven distinct hypostases that form the portrait of Padmasambhava: the Crazy Hermit (nyönpa), the Disciple (lobma), the Hero (pawo), the Demon Tamer (düdul), the Master (lobpön), the Omniscient (künkhyen), and the Enlightened (sangyé).
