DZOGCHEN WORKSHOP – The Brilliant Immediacy of Being: Dzogchen in Daily Life.

DZOGCHEN WORKSHOP
The Brilliant Immediacy of Being: Dzogchen in Daily Life

with Julia Lawless

Join us on Sunday 22nd October at our East London venue, for a full day exploring the Dzogchen approach to meditation in the midst of everyday life.

In this one day workshop, we will explore how to apply Dzogchen theory & practice in our daily life, using the inspirational text, ‘The Essence of Dzogchen According to the Oral Transmission of Shang Shung’ as a guide. This is a very short, heart-instruction text, yet it explains the view, meditation and behaviour of Dzogchen in a simple, concise and accessible way.

In the words of Chögyal Namkhai Norbu:

“Living in our busy modern society, there is often not enough time or space to do complicated spiritual practices.  Although recently Dzogchen has become fashionable, which is not so positive, a true understanding of Dzogchen is very important and useful as it principally refers to a state of knowledge that can be integrated into any kind of situation or circumstance.  It is my sincere hope therefore that Dzogchen can really make a valuable contribution to society and to human evolution in general.”

By understanding the Dzogchen view and then learning how to apply it in practice, Dzogchen can become a valuable tool in helping us to deal with all the different situations we encounter in our everyday lives, including practical and emotional issues. Integrating theory & practice in both the morning and afternoon sessions, and there will also be time for discussion and questions.

This course is open to all who are interested in Dzogchen, including those with no previous experience.
