About the Speaker

Giorgio Dallorto was born in Piedmont, Italy, in 1953, during the month of roses.

He completed his studies in Design Technology and then, in 1978, he met Chögyal Namkhai Norbu and became his student.

He has always been passionate about Oriental Art, a subject he has studied in depth in his countless trips to India and Nepal since the early 1980s.

For the past twenty years, he has devoted himself continuously to the study of classical Tibetan language and its calligraphy in both cursive and block letters. This research has been fused with his very personal artistic journey that uses the Tibetan language as a poetic expression combined with pictographic interpretations inspired by Chinese and Japanese culture. He understands painting as prayer, as a practice that expresses transcendental inner dimensions through the sense of sight. Dall’Orto has been a member of the international Dzogchen Community since its founding. He currently divides his time between Tenerife and Tuscany.
