Monday 27th of September will mark three years since the passing of Chögyal Namkhai Norbu, the founder of the International Shang Shung Institute, pioneering scholar of Tibetan studies and world renowned spiritual master.
We will be offering 108 Khatags, Tibetan ceremonial white silk scarves, that will be hung on the stupa structure that houses his mortal remains and would like to give you the opportunity to participate in this offering by making a donation. Please click here for more information.
In Tibetan culture offering a khatag is a sign of respect and devotion. All money raised through the sale of the khatag scarves will be used for activities related to the preservation and continuation of Tibetan culture. Links to a timeline of the remarkable life of Chögyal Namkhai Norbu can be found here. They chart his life and dedication in the pursuit of knowledge, preservation of culture and spiritual practice. Donations will be used to continue his vision through the activities of Shang Shung UK.
Sending you all good wishes,
Shang Shung Institute UK
